HOMER, Ga. — Banks County High School has hired a proven winner as its next head football coach.
Todd Winter, former head coach and director of football operations at Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Atlanta, accepted the position earlier this week.
He replaces Jay Reid, who stepped down as head coach in November.
During his time at Holy Innocents, Winter led the Golden Bears to five straight Class A and back-to-back Class 4A state playoff berths. He also guided the Golden Bears to three region championships, two first-round, one second-round, two quarterfinals, and one semifinal playoff berth during his seven seasons.
Before his time with the Golden Bears, Winter led Pinecrest Academy in Forsyth County for five seasons. During those five seasons, the Paladins made three straight Class A playoff berths, captured a region championship, and won five or more games each season.
Winter's overall record as a head coach in Georgia is 90-46. He has over 27 years of coaching experience at the high school and NCAA Division III level.
