CUMMING, Ga. – Lanier Christian shut out Pinecrest Academy in the second half to win 34-31 Friday night.
Trailing 31-21 at halftime, the Lightning rallied to score the final 13 points of the game in the second half to get their region play underway at a 1-0 start.
Shepard Acton ran for 124 yards and three touchdowns in the effort. Drew Kalinauskas hooked up with Ben Hargas for a passing touchdown, and Isaiah Hreniuc added another on the ground.
LCA is off next week before a home region game against King's Academy in two weeks.
