Three people injured after wreck on Ga. 17 near White County line

The Habersham County Sherrif’s Office is investigating a Tuesday afternoon wreck that left three people injured and shut down Ga. 17 near the White County line for three hours.

Habersham County Authorities said they were dispatched to the two-vehicle wreck at 1:50 p.m. between Mill Run and the White County line and blocked both lanes of Ga. 17.

Habersham County Emergency Services, Habersham County Sheriff's Office and White County Fire Services all responded to the scene. 

Units arrived within five minutes of the accident and began minor extrication on a person inside the overturned RV involved.

“By 2:06 p.m., the driver of the passenger car involved was extricated and then was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville by White County Med 3.” Habersham County Public Information Officer Rob Moore said.

Moore added that two other people were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville by Habersham County Emergency Services Med 16.

Ga. 17 remained closed between Ga. 255 Alternate and Highway 255 North at the Old Sautee Store the RV was removed from the road.

The wreck remains under investigation by the sheriff's office HEAT Units and no other details have been provided.
