By Austin Eller News Director

The Oakwood Police Department has charged a Gainesville woman after she allegedly threatened to shoot people inside the Oakwood Walmart on Sunday.

According to a release from the agency, Hall County 911 received a call Sunday from a woman stating she planned to enter the Walmart store and shoot people inside.

Multiple agencies responded to the store, including Oakwood Police, University of North Georgia Police, Flowery Branch Police and the Hall County Sheriff's Office. The store was locked down and evacuated. It was carefully searched by authorities.

No shooting occurred at the store, and authorities were not able to locate the suspect.

Investigators then worked to determine the identity of the person who made the apparent hoax. They learned the initial call was made from a cell phone and investigators were able to identify the previous owner of the phone, as well as the subject's last known address.

After going to the home to contact the phone's owner, investigators learned the hoax call was made by the daughter of the person who last owned the phone. That suspect was identified as Paquasha Randolph, 27, of Gainesville.

Randolph was arrested and booked at the Hall County Jail on charges of terroristic threats, offense against public order, misuse of 911 and false report of a crime in progress.

Investigators are also attempting to obtain a warrant for domestic terrorism.
