Gwinnett County authorities identified late Wednesday morning the victim and suspect in a Tuesday evening shooting in Peachtree Corners.
Gwinnett County Police said Dareese Ellis, 28, of Peachtree Corners, died after he was shot Tuesday afternoon on Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
The suspect in the case was identified as Jay Dante Crump, 21, of Peachtree Corners. Crump's current location is unknown.
Both Ellis and Crump were staying at a hotel when the shooting took place.
Crump was described as 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds.
Crump is facing charges of aggravated assault, felony murder and possession of a firearm during a felony.

Gwinnett Police investigators are looking for a suspect behind a fatal shooting overnight from Peachtree Corners along Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
Police say they are looking for a suspect, possibly an adult black male, believed to have been walking from the scene of yesterday's 5:45 p.m. incident by 7049 Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
Investigators say a call was received moments earlier about a person shot, following what witnesses say was an apparent altercation between the victim and suspect.
Upon arrival, detectives and found a deceased male victim due to a gunshot wound, but a suspect was not located.
