Duluth Police are hoping the public will come forward with information about a fatal crash in the city Thursday evening.
According to a social media post from the agency, one pedestrian was killed in the incident on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. A motorcyclist also suffered serious injuries.
The agency said the incident happened at about 6:14 p.m. near the road's intersection with Rogers Bridge Road.
A motorcycle was reportedly driving northbound on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard when an SUV turned left in front of it. The motorcycle rider attempted to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful. The motorcycle collided with the SUV, causing the rider to separate from the bike.
The bike then struck a pedestrian on the east side of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, resulting in fatal injuries. The motorcycle rider was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Duluth Police Sgt. W. Alexander. Witnesses or anyone with dashcam video of the crash, including the driving behavior of the motorcycle from the Abbotts Bridge intersection to Rogers Bridge Road, are of particular interest in the investigation.
