Duluth Police working to identify human remains found in city

The Duluth Police Department has asked for the public's help in identifying a woman who was recently found dead in the city.

According to a press release from the agency, the African American woman was found in the city on June 2.

"Despite the efforts of Duluth detectives, the woman's identity remains unknown," the press release said.

She is believed to be an African American woman between the ages of 25 and 35 and between about 5'1" and 5'5" tall. She also had multiple body piercings and an unidentified tattoo on her back.

A sketch of the woman's appearance created by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation can be seen at the top of this story.

The agency did not release any information about her suspected cause of death.
