Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation invites the community to join them while they celebrate Park and Recreation Month in July.
The association will hold many free and low-cost activities including an art show, an ice cream social and much more.
According to a press release, this year's theme for Parks and Recreation Month is “Where Community Grows” and it will highlight the role parks and recreation play in fostering a stronger community.
“We believe parks and recreation play an important role in supporting our vibrant community,” said Division Director Chris Minor. “From connecting residents with inclusive and equitable services, promoting historic and nature conservation, providing athletic, aquatic, educational and recreational experiences to maintaining safe parks, we strive to help our community thrive.”
Park and Recreation Month was an initiative started in 1985 by the National Recreation and Park Association.
