The Gainesville City Council is set to vote Tuesday evening on the expansion of the city's Downtown Dining District, which would bring several new establishments within its boundaries.
Assistant City Manager Angela Sheppard said at Thursday morning's Gainesville City Council work session the new boundary would include Inked Pig, Remedy Distillery and Blackstrap.
The Downtown Dining District is described as an area within Gainesville City Limits where customers are allowed to carry alcohol in an open container.
The upcoming vote follows a previous expansion in September 2022, which saw the district's boundaries expand toward the Midland Greenway.
The Gainesville City Council will vote on the matter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6.
