Gwinnett County authorities searching for entering auto, armed robbery suspect

Gwinnett County Police have asked for the public's help identifying a man implicated in a recent entering auto and armed robbery case in Lawrenceville.

According to a press release from the agency, the incident happened on May 9 outside McKendree United Methodist Church at 1570 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road. The victim was reportedly inside the church when she noticed someone inside her vehicle in the parking lot. 

The victim confronted the suspect, who then fled the scene. However, he left his cell phone inside the victim's car as he was fleeing.

Shortly after, the suspect returned and demanded his cell phone back.

"The victim stated she was waiting for the police when the suspect pulled a gun and pointed it at her," the press release said. "He then proceeded to break out the window of the victim’s car and retrieve his cell phone."

He fled from the scene in a gray or silver Jeep Liberty driven by another man. 

The suspect is described as a black man, between 19 and 20 years old, about six feet tall, weighing 180 pounds and wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. The car the suspect fled in had distinctive decals on the back windshield that read "Cars $500 Down www.GreatCityCars.com (614) 522-6500.”
