Auburn man killed in Cumming motorcycle crash

By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

An Auburn man is dead after a crash between a motorcycle and a pick-up truck Wednesday afternoon in Cumming.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office officials said Thursday morning that the Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading north on Veterans Memorial Boulevard on Buford Dam Road. The driver of the Ford F-150 truck, which was headed east on Buford Dam Road, reportedly failed to yield to the motorcycle and struck it in the intersection.

Michael Ramey, age 56, of Auburn was on the motorcycle and was ejected. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead.

The crash is still under investigation, but sheriff's office officials said that impairment was not a factor.

No other injuries have been reported.
