Food Truck Fridays kick-off this week in Gainesville

By Sydney Hencil Anchor/Reporter
Gainesville City's Food Truck Fridays returns this Friday from 5pm to 9pm at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

Food Truck Friday will begin Friday evening at Lake Lanier Olympic Park's Northeast Georgia Health System Plaza. Entry into the event is free and will feature live music from The Band Loula, food trucks, retail vendors, and beer and wine tents.

The Hall County Library system will also be in attendance this Friday, according to Lake Lanier Olympic Park's Special Event Manager Morgan Wingler. The library will provide arts and crafts to children through its mobile library and will allow people to check out books.

“They're also going to have the opportunity for people to sign up for a library card at their tents," Wingler said. "So really, that's going to be the happening spot for all the younger kids and their families to hang out during the event."

Advanced lakeside seating, which includes a table on the grandstands with seating for six, is available for $45.  A link to reserve a table ahead of time can be found here.

According to its website, parking at Lake Lanier Olympic Park will be limited. The city will offer shuttle services and offsite parking at Riverbend Church on Cleveland Highway as a way to combat parking issues. Shuttle services will begin at 4:45 p.m. and will run through 9:15 p.m.  Animals are not permitted on shuttle service vehicles unless they are service animals at work.

Gainesville City has hosted Food Truck Fridays as a way to bring the community together since 2018. The event is held the third Friday of every month during the spring and summer months.

The next Food Truck Friday will be held May 19.
