A Gainesville man was arrested Friday evening after he allegedly held a woman against her will in a vehicle and drove her around at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Adam Blake Harvey, 33, was charged with felony counts of kidnapping and terroristic threats, along with the following misdemeanors: battery under the Family Violence Act, reckless conduct and theft by taking.

Deputies responded to the alleged domestic violence situation Thursday night in a car traveling from White County to Hall County on U.S. 129.  Harvey stopped the vehicle at Hall County Fire Station 15 on Autry Spur and reportedly ran off into the woods, leaving the victim behind. Deputies established a perimeter and a K9 team attempted to locate him, but they were unsuccessful.

Deputies took out warrants for his arrest and went to his home Friday evening in the 4000 block of Country View Circle. Harvey allegedly ran off on foot when deputies arrived at the home. They arrested him without incident in the woods behind the home.

An initial investigation determined Harvey held the woman against her will and drove her around, refusing to stop and threatening to crash if law enforcement got behind the vehicle or did not stop looking for them. He allegedly drove at speeds higher than 100 miles per hour at times and did not stop for stop signs or red lights.

He also grabbed the victim's arm, causing bruising, as he attempted to take her phone from her. He also threatened to kill the victim and a juvenile, who was not in the vehicle, and stole almost $50 from the victim.

Harvey remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Monday morning.

The case remains under investigation.
