Gainesville woman found guilty of murdering fiancé, living with body

A Hall County jury on Friday found a Gainesville woman guilty on a variety of charges, including malice murder, for murdering her fiancé and living with his body for several weeks.

Tabitha Zeldia Wood, 45, was charged with the 2022 death of Leroy Franklin Kramer, Jr., 82, after his body was found in June at the home the two shared on Candler Road.

Wood reportedly told deputies that Kramer had died the first week of April and she had been living in the home with the body until it was discovered in June.

An indictment stated Wood caused Kramer's death by inflicting traumatic injuries to his neck and chest.

Hall County Court documents show the jury found Wood guilty on all related charges, including malice murder, felony murder predicated on aggravated assault against a person sixty-five years of age and older, felony murder predicated on the exploitation of an elder person, aggravated assault, exploitation of an elder person, concealing the death of another and financial transaction card theft.

Sentencing for Wood will be held at a later date.
