By AccessWDUN Staff

ELLIJAY, Ga. — Dawson County's Trey Harvey was tough to hit, and the Tigers' bats did just enough to get out of Ellijay with a 5-1 over Gilmer win on Tuesday.

Harvey, in a complete-game performance, allowed one run on two hits while fanning 11 Bobcats.

He also helped his cause at the plate, driving in two runs in the third inning. Julian Horner led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs, including a solo homer in the second inning to get the Tigers (7-5, 3-1) on the board in the second inning.

Dawson County scored three runs in the fourth and one in the seventh. Gilmer's lone run came in the bottom of the fourth.

With the win, Dawson County is tied with Lumpkin County and Pickens atop the Region 7-3A standings. DRegion 7-3A has a three-horse race brewing in the clubhouse after Tuesday night's action.
