A Talmo man was arrested for arson Saturday morning following a fire that destroyed a mobile home off of Athens Highway near Talmo.

According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Michael Timothy Sites, 34, was charged with first-degree arson.

Hall County Fire Rescue told AccessWDUN Saturday crews responded at about 5:30 a.m. to the fire on Pratt Reece Road. The mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office said Sites was arrested between 6 and 6:30 a.m. at the scene of the fire while Hall County Fire Rescue battled the blaze.

The initial investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office and sheriff's office determined Sites poured gasoline on the structure, resulting in the fire. Sites lived in the mobile home.

Sites was transported to the Hall County Jail where he remained without bond early Monday.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.
