GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Jake Hitchcock pitched five innings allowing just one hit and struck out four to lead Chestatee to a 4-0 win over West Hall in both teams’ season openers on Friday at the Lynn Cottrell Complex.
At the plate, Nick McKoy paced the War Eagles (1-0) with a hit, an RBI, and scored a run. Cohen Miller, Eli Chaffin, and Chandler Holcomb scored runs for Chestatee.
Thomas Martens pitched a perfect final two innings for the War Eagles.
Brett Sturm took the loss for West Hall (0-1), allowing four runs on just one hit while striking out five in three innings. Evan Conner and Camden Page pitched the final three innings for the Spartans.
