Five more Northeast Georgia-area baseball teams are scheduled to open their 2023 Georgia High School Association baseball season on Thursday, weather permitting.
The bulk of the area and the state start next week.
The 2023 season officially opened on Monday, with area teams East Jackson, Habersham Central, and Jackson County all getting underway. On Tuesday, East Hall opened against East Jackson and Flowery Branch opened against Forsyth Central.
A highlight matchup on Thursday will have Gainesville traveling to East Forsyth to in both teams' season openers.
Commerce, a Final 4 team in 2022, heads to Lumpkin County. Banks County will play host to Putnam County
