The Flowery Branch City Council Thursday will vote on whether or not to award a marketing services company a contract to revamp the city’s current branding.
The proposed company is Radical Design, Co., LLC, which is being sought by city officials to help communicate and revitalize “the story of Flowery Branch,” according to city documents.
The current brand for the city comes in the form of a Dogwood flower, but officials believe branding is more than just a logo.
“It tells a story that encompasses the past, present, and future,” city documents read. “Currently, the City of Flowery Branch does not have a brand.”
Officials are hoping to revamp the branding to communicate important historical attributes about the city, including that Flowery Branch is the only city in the world with that name, it is one of Georgia’s only historic downtowns on a lake and has part of Old Federal Road running through city limits.
The proposed contract to be awarded to Radical Design totals $59,500 for services including research, interviews, logo concepts, work sessions and final marketing deliverables, such as original asset files, business cards, signage, brochures, social media posts and more.
“The project will focus on revitalizing the City of Flowery Branch branding, showcasing the community's unique character through logos and graphics highlighting its rich history, dynamic growth, and exciting prospects,” the contract reads. “The aim is to craft a timeless and impactful brand that resonates with the City of Flowery Branch’s residents and visitors, sparking interest, attracting investments and fostering a desire to visit and reside there.”
The city council will vote on the awarding of the contract during their meeting on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Flowery Branch City Hall.
