Gwinnett County Bartender named finalist in Best Holiday Cocktail Contest

Gwinnett Bartender Jay Ledbetter has earned a spot as one of two finalists in the Bar and Restaurant News’ Best Holiday Cocktail Contest. 

Ledbetter is a bartender at Local Republic located in Lawrenceville is a popular location for craft cocktails and culinary creations. 

‘The Tijuana Brass’ cocktail secured Ledbetter his spot in the competition. 

Ledbetter will face off against the national restaurant chain Eureka.

Bar and Restaurant’s Best Holiday Cocktail Contest looks to name the cocktail that captures the spirit of the holidays. 

The Tijuana Brass is described as “a delightful concoction that not only embodies the festive season but also showcases the unparalleled creativity and expertise that has become synonymous with Ledbetter’s reputation and Lawrenceville’s Local Republic.”

“Autumn spices and fresh herbs wrap this tequila drink in a warm blanket of flavor. Savory, semi-sweet notes dance with rosemary and ginger, keeping a delicate balance that brings for the holiday nostalgia,” Ledbetter said of Tijuana Brass. Ledbetter said the cocktail is one that you would sip on while listening to your grandfather’s old vinyl collection.

The Tijuana Brass will go up against Eureka’s Gingerbread Man Old Fashion. 

The Gwinnett County community as well as cocktail enthusiasts are invited to come out to support Ledbetter and his cocktail.
