GAINESVILLE, Ga. — After a 36-year coaching career, East Forsyth head football coach Brian Allison is hanging up his whistle for retirement.
Allison, who left Union County to start the East Forsyth program from scratch, led the Broncos to their first playoff berth in 2023. He also set the record for most wins in a season with the 7-4 finish.
"It has been a great experience to start a program with the administrative and community support that East Forsyth High School has had," Allison said in a statement.
In his first season, the Broncos produced two wins but improved over the next two seasons, finishing 6-4 in 2022 and narrowly missing the players.
During his 28-year high school head coaching career, Allison won 161 games, losing 129, with stints at Union County and Winder-Barrow. He was an assistant coach at Furman University before coaching high school.
"Coach Allison was the right coach to start the program at East Forsyth," shared East Athletic Director Matt Hollis. "He had done a great job building a staff and developing relationships with the kids and community. I am thankful to have had his guidance in starting the Bronco football program."
Coach Allison will continue to teach and finish the year at East Forsyth High School.
