Football: Gainesville completes undefeated regular season

HOSCHTON, Ga. — Gainesville completed its second straight 10-0 season with a 28-0 win over Jackson County at Panther Stadium Friday night.  

After a scoreless first quarter, the Red Elephants (10-0, 6-0 Region 8-6A) scored 28 unanswered points in the second quarter to blow open the game.

Gavin Hall and Baxter Wright had two rushing touchdowns. Wright also passed for two scores, one to Eric Hart and the other to Hall. 

Hall finished the night with seven carries for 23 yards. Wright led Big Red's rushing attack with one carry for 53 yards. Wright also completed 9 of 12 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Marciel Henfield hauled in four passes for 67 yards to lead Gainesville, and Hart had three catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. 

MJ Spurling finished the night with 68 yards rushing on 14 carries to lead Jackson County (4-6, 2-4 Region 8-6A). 

RJ Knapp was 13 of 18 passing for 119 yards and one interception.
