The White County Sheriff's Office arrested an Alto man Monday evening after he was found with illegal drugs during a traffic stop.
According to a press release from the agency, a White County Sheriff's Office Deputy stopped a pickup truck for speeding on Helen Highway at about 7:30 p.m.
The deputy smelled marijuana in the vehicle during the traffic stop. A White County K9 unit alerted on the vehicle.
The vehicle was then searched and authorities seized three pounds of marijuana and over six ounces of illegal mushrooms.
A passenger in the vehicle, Richard Lyle Dickens, 53, of Alto, was arrested and charged with trafficking a Schedule 1 drug and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
