GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Nicholas Garrett has resigned as head football coach at Riverside Prep, according to a release from the school on Monday.
He will coach the Eagles through the end of the season. According to the press release from the school, Garrett's last day at the school will be December 31.
In the release, Garrett said he was proud of "the development of future leaders through accountability, integrity, humility and selfless service” while creating “robust opportunities at the next level for our varsity student-athletes.”
According to Garrett, 24 players “have played at the next level from FBS to Division 3,” and “the scholarship tally has been over $8 million in total.”
Under Garrett's leadership, the team finished in the top 25 in the state in back-to-back seasons and made it to the GHSA playoffs. Overall, Garrett was 14-43 in six seasons at the school.
"We appreciate Coach GGarrett'sservice to the Riverside Prep community and wish him luck in his future endeavors,” RPA athletic director Richard Crumley said.
