The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office arrested a man from Cumming on Wednesday after he was allegedly involved in a violent road rage incident earlier in the week.

According to a press release from the agency, Tyler Leikam, 34, of Cumming, was charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and battery in connection with the Tuesday incident on Post Road.

The victim told deputies he was traveling behind a black SUV driven by Leikam when Leikam brake-checked him. As they were stopped at a light parallel to each other on Post Road, Leikam rolled down his window and began yelling obscenities at the victim.

Leikam eventually got out of his SUV, approached the victim's vehicle, and began punching the victim through the window. Leikam pulled a knife out of his pocket and stabbed the back tire of the victim's vehicle. Leikam then turned toward the victim while holding the knife.

"The victim, in fear for his life, fired one shot at Leikam striking him in the hand," the press release reads. "At no point did the victim exit his vehicle."

Leikam was arrested Wednesday evening and was booked at the Forsyth County Jail.
