The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners has approved a $1 million contract to install sidewalks from some residential neighborhoods to Highway 29 between Lilburn and Lawrenceville.
According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the project is funded by the special purpose local option sales tax from 2014 and 2017.
The new sidewalks will be constructed along the west side of James Road from Highway 29 to Paces Landing Drive. They will also be built on the north side of Highway 29 from Sunnyside Drive to Bethesda School Road.
The AJC reports the project will also feature the installation of curbs and gutters as well as drainage improvements.
Lawrenceville-based Construction 57 was awarded the contract for the project.
