A Clarkesville man has been booked into the Hall County Jail on January 6 on theft charges in connection to a mail theft case dating back to the summer of 2020.
Kristopher Jordan Beasley, 29, is charged with 30 counts of theft by taking for allegedly stealing mail in several jurisdictions across North Georgia.
The alleged offenses occurred between July 1 and Aug. 25, 2020, according to authorities. Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office received their portion of the evidence on the case on Aug. 31, 2020, when the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office turned over mail believed to have been stolen from Hall County residents.
Beasley has been in jail in other jurisdictions in connection to the same case.
The mail was returned to the United States Postal Service for redistribution after the Hall County Sheriff’s Office finished sorting through the stolen mail and obtaining warrants for Beasley’s arrest. The mail stolen in Hall County came from residences in the northern part of the county, mainly in the Clermont and Murrayville areas.
Beasley remains in the Hall County Jail as of Tuesday morning with a bond of $19,500.
