Football: Dawson County opens 7AAA with 56-7 win over West Hall

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. - Dawson County took care of business Friday night as they opened up Region 7AAA play with a 56-7 win over West Hall at Tiger Stadium.

After an interception on the second play from scrimmage, Cade Moledor put the Tigers on the board with a 1-yard run. Sawyer Bearden scored on the next drive for the Tigers on a 9-yard run before Davis Glass found Bearden on the third drive of the night for 25 yards and a 21-0 lead. Elijah Smith rounded out the first quarter scoring with a 20-yard run.

The Tigers did not slow down in the second quarter as Matt Bennett scampered in from five yards out before Moledor scored his second touchdown of the night, this time on a 37-yard sprint.

Glass would find Dom LeBlanc in the third quarter on a 10-yard passing play to stretch the lead to 49-0. Bentlee Caine finished the Dawson County scoring in the fourth on a 12-yard run before West Hall scored late to get to the final score.

Moledor finished with six carries for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead all rushers in the game.

Dawson will head to White County next week, while West Hall plays host to Gilmer.
