Gwinnett County commissioner Watkins to hold town hall for veterans

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

On Monday, Sept. 26, Gwinnett County Commission Vice-Chair and District 3 Commissioner Jasper Watkins will host a town hall to discuss services and programs available to Gwinnett County veterans and their families.

Watkins, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, explained the goals for the meeting saying: “As a veteran, I know how difficult it can be to navigate services available to us,” Watkins explained. “Our goal with this town hall is to leave with marching orders on where we have gaps, but also share the numerous services and programs already available to our veterans and their families right here in Gwinnett.”

Watkins will be joined by representatives from Gwinnett County Community Services, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 90, the American Legion Post 232 and health care professionals to share information and answer questions.

The town hall will be held at 6 p.m. in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center auditorium, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
