The Lula-Belton Historical Society will host its annual car and truck show at Rafe Banks Park Saturday, June 11, with registration starting bright and early at 8 a.m..
The car and truck showing will last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The annual car and truck show is a popular and exciting event for classic car lovers.
“It brings the community together, and even people that are not in the community,” Lula-Belton Historical Society member Debbie Smith said. “We have people that come every year, because it's a part of their schedule in the summer.”
Registration will be $25 the day of the event, and pre-registration costs $20. Proceeds from the event will benefit Lula’s historical cemetery.
“We go in there and we clean the cemetery and [maintain] the grass cutting,” Smith said. “We have workers that come in from the Historical Society and we keep that upgraded for Lula.”
Anyone can register their car, Smith said some popular classic vehicles include ‘55 Chevrolets and antique trucks.
“Each one's got their own unique look and style,” Smith said.
Judging will start at 1:30 p.m., and trophies will be rewarded to the winners. There will be several different categories, like ladies' choice.
Additionally, attendees will be able to enjoy live music and entertainment and enter a 50-50 raffle. There will also be door prizes and a variety of foods and beverages, like barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, biscuits and coffee.
“This is something that gives a lot of people joy,” Smith said.
