The Gwinnett County Police Department released the names of the male suspect and male victim involved in Saturday's non-fatal shooting at a Lawrenceville-area Target store.

Police arrested suspect Elijah Mitchell, 30, of Lawrenceville immediately after the shooting. Mitchell shot Orlanda Banks, 27, of Lawrenceville. Police believe the two knew each other and got into an argument at the store.

Mitchell has been charged with one count of aggravated assault, reckless conduct and third-degree cruelty to children.

Banks was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured in the shooting.

An apparent domestic dispute at a Lawrenceville-area Target store ended with a non-fatal shooting early Saturday afternoon.

Gwinnett County police say the incident actually took place inside the building at 875 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, and resulted in one unnamed male victim sustaining a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Gwinnett Master Police Officer A.M. Carter said a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting, which saw authorities dispatched to the store just before 1:30 p.m.

No other injuries were reported, and the store was evacuated immediately after the shooting.

The Gwinnett Daily Post says authorities expected the Target, as well as portions of the surrounding parking lot, to be closed for a time as authorities collected more evidence.
