Milton Martin Honda receives approval for move to Oakwood

Milton Martin Honda received unanimous approval from the Oakwood City Council Monday night to move its operations from Gainesville to Oakwood.

The automobile dealership will leave its location on Browns Bridge Road for Atlanta Highway. The new 40,000 square-foot facility will include a showroom, a wash bay and administrative offices.

Mark Boggs, Milton Martin Honda’s general manager, said the new property’s location on Atlanta Highway is ideal for business.

“It's always nice to be close to an interstate,” Boggs said. “That just makes it easier to serve the customers.”

Boggs said Milton Martin Honda’s goal is to grow and better serve its customers.

Rochester and Associates, LLC are the developers who represent Milton Martin Honda. They submitted five separate applications to annex 9 acres into the city. According to Rochester and Associates representative Bradley Dunkle, the land developing company is also in negotiations to acquire additional land parcels from nearby homes.

“I think they have a desire to sell, but they just haven't been able to put together a contract yet with them,” Dunkle said. “So that is the desire of the dealership to acquire those parcels also.”

Visitors will be able to enter and exit the dealership from a red light that will connect to Atlanta Highway.

“In addition, there will be a right-in, right-out that will go directly into the showroom section or portion of the dealership,” Dunkle said.

There is no official construction timetable for the project, but Boggs estimated that the facility could be completed in two years.
