Hall Co. officials confirm 1st case of rabies this year

Hall County officials are urging people to vaccinate their domesticated animals for rabies after a rabid fox had contact with a dog.

According to a press release, the incident occurred in the 5200 block of Young Road in Gainesville.

Hall County Animal Control personnel captured the fox, and they then transported it to the Georgia Public Health Lab's Virology Section in Decatur, which confirmed the positive case.
