Authorities have identified a teenager who was killed in a car accident in Barrow County on Tuesday.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, on Tuesday around 12:31 p.m., two vehicles were in a crash, injuring three people and killing a teenager. Christhian Alejandro Gil Bermudez, 17 of Duluth, was identified as the victim who was fatally injured.
The accident happened when the Dodge Charger Bermudez was riding in was traveling north on Patrick Mill Road. The teenage driver lost control and the car spun around, going outside of its lane. This caused a Dodge Ram truck traveling southbound to strike the passenger side of the car where Bermudez was sitting. The Charger was pushed off the road coming to a stop on the shoulder.
Bermudez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of that Charger, Juan Manuel Castro Delgado, 18 from Bethlehem, had serious injuries and was taken to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. Delgado will be charged in the accident when he is released from the hospital. Authorities have said his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
There were also two people in the Dodge Ram. A Winder woman and 7-year-old child were also both taken by ambulance to the hospital, but both had non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to fully recover.
