JEFFERSON, Ga. — Jefferson scattered 10 runs across five innings to blast past Commerce, 10-0, at home on Thursday.
The Dragons found themselves up 7-0 after three innings and added one more run in the fourth and two in the fifth to force the mercy rule on the Tigers.
Roger Hulsey was 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Dragons. Bradlee Kinney was 2-for-2 2ith two RBIs, Matthew Perrin finished with a 2-for-3 plate performance with an RBI, and Jase Peoples was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Peoples was two walks shy of a perfect game, going 3 2/3 innings, allowing two walks and striking out seven. Eston Simpson, in relief, picked almost two perfect innings, with striking out three.
