TikTok challenge leads to charges against White County High School students

A TikTok challenge resulting in injuries Monday at White County High School led to criminal charges against two students on Thursday.

On Monday, Nov. 7, the White County Sheriff’s Office school resource officer at the high school was alerted about a student with possible head trauma after being involved in the challenge between two teen girls during a class break.

That’s according to a statement issued Thursday from Sheriff Rick Kelley.

"Based on the complaint, an investigation was conducted,” Kelley’s statement reads. “As a result, on Thursday, Nov. 10, two 15-year-old, juvenile females were charged with aggravated battery and disorderly conduct. Both juveniles have been processed and turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.”

Because the teens are charged as juveniles, no names or other identifying information and no update on the injured student has been released.
