RABBITTOWN, Ga. — Cherokee Bluff scored the first three touchdowns of the night and then hung on to defeat East Hall, 34-20, Friday night.

The Bears rushed for over 260 yards on the night, tallying 350 yards of total offense, while the defense forced three Viking turnovers on the night as well.

Tre Brown got the Bears on the board with a 44-yard run on the opening drive. Just five minutes later, Cherokee Bluff doubled its lead with a 1-yard score from Asher Wilson to push the lead to 14-0. The Bears scored again early in the second quarter on a Perry Haynes 53-yard rush before the Vikings got on the scoreboard.

East Hall scored on a 28-yard pass play early in the third to get on the board, but the Bears responded with a pair of field goals from Xavier Diaz, one from 40 yards and the other from 34 to take a 27-7 lead. Cherokee Bluff got a 5-yard rushing touchdown from Caleb Cooper just a few seconds after the latter field goal to take a 34-7 lead.

The Vikings kept fighting, returning the ensuing kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown before a 15-yard passing touchdown with just six seconds left to get to the final score.

East Hall will hit the road next week to take on North Oconee, while the Bears will have a week off before wrapping up the regular season against the Titans at home.
