Football: Rabun County survives upset bid at St. Francis

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Rabun County scored with just over eight minutes to play as they survived Friday night at St. Francis, 17-14.

The Wildcats got on the board first as Lang Windham punched it in from two yards out to take the early lead. Marc Remillard added to the Rabun lead with 10:36 to play in the first half with a 23-yard field goal, pushing the score to 10-0.

St. Francis answered, scoring a pair of touchdowns on back-to-back drives in the second quarter to hold a 14-10 lead until the fourth quarter. Windham sprinted in from 22 yards out with 8:14 to play to take the 17-14 lead that ended up as the final score.

Rabun County was held to 265 yards of offense, punting five times in the game. Windham finished with 19 carries for 108 yards and two touchdowns, while Keegan Stover was 13-for-26 passing for 190 yards. Eight of his 13 completions went to Jaden Gibson for 109 yards.

The Wildcats finish up a three-game road swing at Elbert County next week.
