Riverside Military Academy announced on Tuesday, Oct. 4 that it will be changing its name to Riverside Preparatory Academy.
This decision comes after Riverside’s partnership with a national marketing firm that specializes in private schools. At the conclusion of the firm’s focus groups, surveys and market studies, officials concluded that the Riverside Preparatory Academy name will more accurately describe the school’s focus on college preparations.
Riverside Preparatory Academy President Stanley C. “StaĆ” Preczewski gathered students and faculty on campus to make the announcement.
“Except for continuous improvements in our offerings, nothing is changing,” Preczewski said. “We have always been a preparatory school and will continue to prepare middle school students for high school and upper school students for college and beyond. We will continue
using the military model of education including required uniforms, earned leadership responsibilities, and codes of conduct, as we have for more than one hundred years.”
Valarie M. Reeves, the director of marketing, said the school is expected to issue new marketing materials such as a logo by mid-November.
Riverside Preparatory Academy was established in 1907 as an all-boys preparatory school that serves boys in grades 6-12. It combines military structure, academic, leadership and athletic programs to enhance the overall educational experience to produce young men of character, judgment and commitment.
