On Oct. 3, Hall County native Anna Hester will begin her new role as executive director of Vision 2030.
Hester had been working for the chamber for the past year in a project manager role for economic development before taking up her new role.
“I actually had the opportunity to come to board meetings during that time. So I was very excited when I found out that I'd be taking over the role,” Hester said.
Hester became interested in Vision 2030 when she moved back to Hall County in 2021. She was amazed to learn more about all the different initiatives that the organization focuses on.
“I think as someone who's returning to their hometown, it's just really neat to see a lot of those changes taking place,” Hester said.
Hester said there has been a great success and economic development efforts in creating new jobs in the county. Moving forward she wishes that the county can continue to grow and preserve a hometown feel.
“I think Vision 2030 really focuses on making sure that we maintain that quality of life,” Hester said.
Hester went to Gainesville High School and completed her degree at the University of Georgia. After returning back to Gainesville, her favorite thing to do is visit the various parks with her children.
Vision 2030 is a community project of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce and was initiated in 2005. For more information on the project, you can visit their website vision2030.org.
