OAKWOOD — Beginning with the 2022 campaign. the Johnson football program will play a non-region schedule for the next two seasons.
Johnson High Athletic Director Tony Wagner released the Knights schedule on Thursday saying the school had decided to forego a region schedule during the current round of reclassification, which runs through the 2023-24 season.
The Knights will play a pair of scrimmage games against North Cobb Christian at home and new school Seckinger on the road. They will open the regular season in Homer against Banks County on Aug. 19.
Johnson will play host to West Hall on Aug. 26 in The Battle of Oakwood. They also will play host to East Forsyth, Towns County, Druid Hill, and close out the season on Nov. 4 against Midtown. The knights will play road games against East Hall, East Jackson, Lakeside-DeKalb, and Clarkston.
