Dahlonega teenager dies after a fight, suspect ID'd

Police have identified the man accused of fighting with a Dahlonega teenager at an Applebee's in Dawsonville.

The teenager, Kaleb Duckworth, 19, has since died from his injuries, according to 11Alive News.

Documents from the Dawson County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as Daniel Lee Roberts, 20, of Dawsonville.

He has been charged with aggravated battery and assault and is in custody.

On Sunday night, between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Applebees off of 400, the suspect punched Duckworth in the face. When he did, Duckworth hit his head on the ground causing a brain injury.

When deputies arrived, Duckworth was unconscious and never woke up. He passed away on Tuesday.

According to his mother’s Facebook page, Duckworth was an organ donor and eight lives were touched as a result.

The investigation is ongoing.
