An inmate at the Hall County Jail is facing new charges after he allegedly assaulted and injured a fellow inmate Monday morning.
According to Sgt. Ryan Daly, public information officer with the Sheriff's Office, Jody Edward Summers of Ellijay allegedly punched and stabbed the second inmate in their face.
The victim was treated by jail medical staff and remained in the jail with non-life-threatening injuries.
Summers now faces additional charges of aggravated assault, battery and inmate with possession of a weapon.
Summers was previously being held in the Hall County Jail on drug-related charges.
