Hall County Commissioner Shelly Echols announced Wednesday her intention to run for State Senate - District 49.
Echols is campaigning to succeed Butch Miller, who has already announced his intentions to run for Lieutenant Governor.
Echols ran for the County Commission in 2018, winning the Post 3 seat.
“As your senator, I’ll champion pro-life policies, protect our Second Amendment rights, fight for less government, and never cave to the radical left and their cancel culture. I will serve with principle and never be afraid to stand up for what is right just as I have on the County Commission," Echols said in a press release.
Echols is a longtime resident of Hall County, graduated from the University of North Georgia and is a former public school teacher and small business owner. She is married to Drew Echols, CEO of Jaemor Farms, and they have two children, Chloe and Cohen.
