Hall County Sheriff's Office Warrants Unit deputies arrested a Flowery Branch man Saturday on outstanding warrants for rape, child molestation and sexual battery stemming back to incidents that allegedly occurred in 2017 and 2020.

According to Derreck Booth, public information officer with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested James Kenneth Evans, 32, at his home in the 5,000 block of Lights Ferry Road.

Booth said Evans is accused of committing the crimes against a female child who is under the age of 16.

The rape and child molestation incidents reportedly happened between May 24, 2020, and June 5, 2020, at the victim's home, according to Booth.

The sexual battery incident allegedly happened between Jan. 1, 2017, and Dec. 1, 2017, also at the victim's home. Booth said Evans knew the victim in the incidents.

The victim first told a medical professional about the incidents, who then contacted deputies on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, which led to the start of the investigation. Investigators obtained warrants for Evans' arrest on Nov. 30, 2020.

Evans was booked in at the Hall County Jail and remained there without bond as of Monday afternoon.

Booth said Sheriff's Office detectives continue to investigate the case.
