With rain still predicted for Wednesday, several baseball games involving northeast Georgia teams moved to Tuesday. However, there are still some huge matchups in store for Wednesday as teams begin to get some separation, or climb back into contention, in key region races.
On Monday, White County shocked No. 1 North Hall in Gainesville. Now the two teams' will resume their crucial three-game series in Cleveland today. The Warriors can win the season series with a win while the Trojans are looking to even things up for Friday's series finale.
Another huge series will wrap up today as Flowery Branch, No. 2 in Class 4A, tries to salvage the final game of its three-game Region 8-4A series with No. 1 North Oconee at the Hog Mountain Sports Complex.
In Region 8-5A, Jackson County opens a key series at home against Clarke Central as the Panthers, who are tied for third with No. 1-ranked Loganville, try to keep pace.
In Region 6-7A, Gainesville will try to even its series with South Forsyth in Cumming and pull within one-half game of fourth place in the region standings.
