BOGART — The Flowery Branch tennis teams split a pair of Region 8-4A openers with North Oconee on Tuesday on the road.
The Lady Falcons took a thrilling 3-2 victory while the boys fell 3-2 to the Titans.
In the girls' match, Julianna Velaj battled back from a set down (1-6, 6-2, 6-0) to win the No. 3 singles match to give the Lady Falcons (3-1, 1-0 Region 8-4A) the victory.
Sandra Hernandez also got a win at No. 2 single with a straight-sets win (6-3, 6-2) and the No. 1 doubles team of Madison Sedwick and Polina Chernikova won 6-3, 6-4 for Flowery Branch.
In the boys' match, the Titans were able to get the team win by sweeping the doubles.
Flowery Branch (2-2, 0-1 Region 8-4A) got wins from Will Hernandez and Caden Caldwell in singles.
