DAWSONVILLE — Julian Horner's single up the middle started a 5-0 run blitz and helped Dawson County beat Cass at home on Saturday.
Horner led the team with two hits and four RBIs. His single scored Kolton Rucker and Sawyer Bearden, both reached on walks earlier in the inning. He also had a two-RBI single in the sixth inning, pushing the lead, 4-0. Andrew Burt doubled, scoring Horner in the sixth to extend the lead to 5-0.
Trey Harvey earned the win on the hill, going five innings, allowing two hits while striking out three. Jacob Poss struck out four in two innings of relief work.
