Authorities looking for Forsyth County lumber thief

A thief who stole more than $25,000 in lumber and a rare piece of equipment is on the run in Forsyth County. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s office issued a BOLO for the suspect on their Facebook page, along with his photo, saying that he drove to the back of 4965 Atlanta Highway around 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning and loaded the lumber into his truck. He also stole a rare, blue firewood processer that was manufactured in Canada and is the only one in the state of Georgia.

The suspect left the location, unloaded the stolen equipment, and returned to the business about 20 minutes later. As the suspect returned, the business owner arrived, and the suspect fled.

The Sheriff’s Office believes the man lives in the area and asks anyone with information about the suspect, or the easily distinguished log splitter, to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 770-781-3087.
