Winder man arrested for burglarizing Gainesville church

A Winder man was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 9 after stealing money from a church on Calvary Church Road.

Derreck Booth with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a call around 1 p.m. and met with church members, who discovered the break-in at Calvary Baptist Church.

Deputies found 40-year-old Robert Keith Boyd hiding inside the church and arrested him without incident. They recovered the money that Boyd had taken during the burglary.

Boyd is charged with second-degree burglary and remains in the Hall County Jail, at last report.

The case remains under investigation.
